WHY IT MATTERS
Adoption
This pillar shows how far businesses in Cyprus have started to use AI in their work. The figures come from an EU survey of enterprises, published by Eurostat: the share using any AI technology, the share using generative AI and the share using more than one AI technology. The survey covers enterprises with ten or more people employed, so the smallest businesses and households are left out.

Index score 38/100. This is the weighted average of the seven pillar scores, each calculated on the reference bands published with its metrics. It is based on 14 metrics, 12 of them tier A (measured). What the index covers and what it leaves out
Number of AI Factories of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking located in the country. An AI Factory combines a supercomputer optimised for AI with a service centre, so hosting one means the machine itself is in the country. AI Factory Antennas, which give remote access to a machine elsewhere, are counted separately in CO-02.0.
Data-centre-class GPUs installed at the national open-access high-performance computing (HPC) facility and available for allocation through its national access calls. GPUs reserved for a single funded project, and systems announced for decommissioning, are excluded.
Price paid by industrial consumers using 500 to 1 999 MWh a year (consumption band IC), including all taxes and levies. A mid-sized datacentre or a university computing facility falls within this range.
AI models of one billion parameters or more, trained from scratch or as a full fine-tune, whose publisher releases the complete weights under its own name. The publisher must have its registered office in Cyprus, or the training must have been carried out on compute located in Cyprus. Adapters, delta weights, API-only releases and third-party mirrors do not count. A fine-tune of another publisher’s base model counts only if the base model’s licence allows the full merged weights to be published.
